How to Control Quality Before Shipping Custom Knitwear
Quality control for knitwear should begin before bulk production, not only at the end of the order. A clear approval process helps buyers and manufacturers agree on measurements, appearance, materials and finishing.
Approve a clear reference sample
The approved sample should define the garment’s measurements, stitch appearance, yarn color, hand feel, labels, trims and packaging direction. Keep the approval record with the purchase information.
Check measurements and construction
Inspect key points such as chest width, body length, sleeve length, neckline, rib tension and seam appearance. The acceptable tolerance should be agreed before production rather than assumed after shipment.
Check yarn and color consistency
Compare bulk yarn and finished panels with the approved reference. Lighting conditions can affect color perception, so buyers should use a consistent review method and approved color references.
Inspect finishing and packing
Labels, loose threads, buttons, folding, polybags, cartons and shipping marks should match the confirmed instructions. Photos and written records can make the final review easier for both sides.
